2009 Region IV Tournament
La Plata wins its first Region IV title in five years holding off Leonardtown, 11 points to 8, at Annapolis High
School..  The Warriors' captured two titles as  Aaron Gomez won the boys' singles 6-4, 4-1 (retired) over Old
Mill's Harsha Rao and Anna Wells and Danira Lutui beat the girls' doubles team from South River, 6-1, 5-0
(retired).    
2009 State Tournament
In boys' singles, La Plata's Aaron Gomez advanced to the state semifinals at the University of Maryland,  
before falling in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, to Paul Burgin of Pikesville.  
Marcus Cole and Taylor Ross (LP) lost in the first round in boys' doubles.  Anna Wells and Danira Lutui (LP)
fell in the girls' doubles quarterfinals.
